What We Didn't Know, We Now Know!
I am certain, or not, that everyone other than Neal and I knew the meaning behind the 12 days of Christmas. I never really thought about the meaning nor the history. It has always been one of my favorit childhood fun songs to sing at Christmas time. Nothing more and nothing less.
Just a few days before Christmas day, Neal and I finally decided what we would do as a new tradition. Things are very different for us since COVID, in so many different way.
The transitioning of a loved one from earth to glory.
Mental stress
Grief in weird ways
New health diagnosis
We knew that in early September, the Lord promised us that a chapter was closing and a new one would soon begin. He would close one door and open another. But, we had a part to do, we would have to open our tight gripped hands and release it to Him. More of that later this month, or next.
Finally we decided that we would do the 12 days of Christmas. Thinking that we were late, it didn’t matter to us because we had pledged to keep our tree up until we were sick of it and therefore, the 12 days of Christmas would be perfect for an extended holiday. A perfect new traditions for us! One that we would be intentional about. We would focus on being intentional in seeking the heart of the Father for us going into the new year. We decided, prayer, fast, give up social media and spend quality time with one another, together in the presence of the Lord. Something that we had somehow, somewhere along the way lost.
sO WHY ARE WE HERE?
Thank you for deciding to follow Neal and I on this 12 day journey. Our lives are anything but exciting, but we invited you to join us and you accepted. We are grateful. Grateful that you would allow us to share with you daily as the Lord reveals different things to us about our lives. We will be as raw and transparent as the Lord leads because we know that our lives are to be a testimony to others.
So again, thank you for joining in and stay tuned daily for the day’s lesson that we are learning through our 12 day journey. Which BTW, has nothing to do with the original 12 days of Christmas!
